About This Vacation Rental About This Vacation Rental

Our house is ideally suited for a couple desiring a relaxing getaway and for families with up to four children. It may not be the best arrangement for multiple couples, as the couple in the Master Suite will have much more luxurios accomodations than the couples using the second bedroom or the sleeper sofa. However, multiple couples are welcome - you'll just need to work out an equitable arrangement among yourselves.

We do allow guests to bring their pets (sorry, no cats).  Although pets are not allowed on beds or furniture and we do clean thoroughly between guests, people with strong allergies to animals probably shouldn't risk staying here.

Our normal check-in and check-out times are 3:00 pm and 11:00 am, respectively.  You can arrange, in advance, for an earlier arrival or later departure at no extra cost, provided our housekeeping staff are able to work around other guests' arrivals and departures.

What to Bring What to Bring

We suggest that you bring with you items like favorite bath soaps, shampoos, personal grooming items, and favorite cooking items.   Some spices and non-perishable cooking supplies are provided.  Bring a cooler if you will be taking food or drinks with you on your adventures.

If you are planning to visit Water Country at Busch Gardens, you should bring your own beach towels.  The towels in the house are for bathing.

Dog owners may want to bring their pet's bed and special toys and food.  Two pet bowls for water and food are provided.  Make sure your dogs are up on their flea treatments and check into getting them immunized for Lyme Disease, as there are deer (and deer ticks) in the woods around the house.

If you are interested in fishing in Little Creek Reservoir, bring your own tackle and be sure to get a Virginia Fishing License.  There is a tackle shop about 2 miles away that sells bait, tackle, and licenses.

If you are bringing an infant, bring bedding to use in the portable crib we provide.

If you will need to make long distance telephone calls, you should bring a cell phone or obtain a calling card that lets you make long distance calls from the house phone.  The house phone can receive call and make unlimited local calls, but cannot be used to direct dialed long distance calls.

If you plan to check your email, you will want to bring the appropriate address and passwords that allow you to log on to your ISP's Web Mail service.
